Chaises are good for the patio and the pool. The headrest on the chaise lounge indoor adjusts on brackets on the back of the head rail. When the brackets loosen or out of shape the only adjustment you can make is to replace the alignment brackets. For a more adjustable chair, hooks buy replacement fixtures, which have eight adjustments instead of four as standard. Replacement consoles for chaise lounges are available through the manufacturer and some home improvement centers.
Fold up the chaise lounge down to access the alignment brackets. Remove the screws that secure the fasteners in the chisel head rail with a star screwdriver. Raise a new angular lower bracket with an existing lowest mounting hole on the head rail. The alignment brackets have three holes. The hooks on the adjustment bracket should be facing the upper part of the head rail. Mark the remaining mounting holes on the head rail with a marker. Drill new holes in the markings with a 1/8 inch drill. Place the new bracket on the head rail and secure with the fastening screws. Repeat for the other side of the head rail.
The Tristan beds are nice to have because they pick up some space except when used. They can provide an extra bed for the night company. The Tristan beds are also good for children’s rooms because they are usually the size of a single bed. You can make your own twin-size trundle bed, perfect for shooting during the day beds. This rolling bed will be easy to pull out when you need the extra sleeping space. Measure the underside of your chaise longue. Measure from the bottom of the bed frame to the floor so that you have enough room for a trundle bed before the project. Think of the truss the bed will be about 8 inches in height and about 6 feet in length.
Check the measurements of your mattress, just to be sure that these timber measurements will accommodate the mattress. Adjust the measurements if necessary. Use tape measure and pencil to mark the necessary measurements on timber. Cut all your timber with circular saw. Place two long pieces of the truss on the high edge. Fit the short pieces on the ends. Use the drill to add two wooden screws in each joint to secure them together. Turn the frame over. Drill holes in each of the four corners, which is an inch less than the wheels on the wheels. Screw one wheel into each of the four holes. Turn the bed frame back. Paint or stain the truss bed as desired. Allow it to dry thoroughly before putting in the plywood support and the mattress. Add two screwed in drawer pulling to one side of the truss to make it easy to pull in and out from the underside day bed. Measure from the ends of the bed so that you evenly place the drawer pulls.
